At the time, SrA Porter with the 272nd Combat Communication Squadron,
Portland, Oregon.
I Provided Initial communications (phone and internet over Satellite) for
the
41st brigade combat team In the first days of the opperation,
Facilitating
the employment of all members from oregon into New Orleans (Convent).
Also, Provided initial communication at the NOCCA.
After completion of that mission, provided communications for the 1-148
from Ohio near lake Pontchartrain. Until they were released, then
Provided
communication for the 41st brigade (1-186IN),as they headed striaght into
the
path of Hurricane Rita.
Awarded the ARCOM by Maj. Wirth (41st BCT BDE S6).
