It was dry, but "sheer misery" he told us.1-186 soldiers had been through the area before, but Mr Joubert couldn't hear them knocking. Battalion members do not go into homes that are not already open unless they have reason to believe there is a dire need. A member of local law enforcement will enter with them if they have to make a forced entry.
